چکیده
Human health, energy and comfort are determined by the climate that remains in physical environment. Regarding urban climate, few studies assess heat island effect, stress, public health as geographical representations. This study seeks to fill this gap selecting Colombo, Sri Lanka, Shenzhen, China, comparatively, two coastal cities with different conditions. We quantified compared effects of waves their impacts on effect urbanization islands (UHI). Heat-related issues have been calculated using Wet-Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) index. The Urban Heat Island (UHI) was analyzed Land Surface (LST), created based Landsat images obtained 1997, 2009 2019. A rapid increase temperature humidity creates an uncomfortable environment both cities, but apparent differences can be observed climatic phenomena. During summer (June August), prevailing atmospheric condition Shenzhen makes a “Very severe stress” Heatstroke highly likely. Nevertheless, seven months (November April) found “Comfortable” without having any heat-related injuries. However, Colombo has never classified throughout year. Out twelve, five (April August) When considering expansion UHI, fast than Shenzhen. Consequently, more expansion, it stressful city. Our findings highlight comparison between conditions under processes. Therefore, is imperative these risks respond effectively.

An Urban Heat Island Study of the Colombo Metropolitan Area, Sri Lanka, Based on Landsat Data (1997-2017)
One of the major impacts associated with unplanned rapid urban growth is the decrease of urban vegetation, which is often replaced with impervious surfaces such as buildings, parking lots, roads, and pavements. Consequently, as the percentage of impervious surfaces continues to increase at the expense of vegetation cover, surface urban heat island (SUHI) forms and becomes more intense. The Colo...
متن کاملThe footprint of urban heat island effect in China
Urban heat island (UHI) is one major anthropogenic modification to the Earth system that transcends its physical boundary. Using MODIS data from 2003 to 2012, we showed that the UHI effect decayed exponentially toward rural areas for majority of the 32 Chinese cities. We found an obvious urban/rural temperature "cliff", and estimated that the footprint of UHI effect (FP, including urban area) w...

The urban heat island (UHI) effect resulting from rapid urbanization generally has a negative impact on urban residents. Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province in China, was selected to assess surface thermal patterns and its correlation with Land Cover Types (LCTs). This study was conducted using Landsat TM images on the mesoscale level and airborne hyperspectral thermal images on the mic...

The study reports a research aiming to detect the spatial pattern of urban heat island (UHI) phenomena in Beijing, China, and to determine the relationship between the UHI pattern and a set of landscape and demographical variables. The study area has been one of the fastest growing metropolises in China during the past two decades. Land surface radiance temperature (SRT) values were extracted f...
متن کاملVulnerability to heat waves: Impact of urban expansion scenarios on urban heat island and heat stress in Paris (France)
Heat-wave risk in cities is determined both by regional climate evolutions and by cities size and shape change, because they can impact heat island effect. Land planning and urban transport policies, due to their long-lasting impact on cities shape, can therefore play a role in heat-wave risk mitigation. However, the link between these policies and resulting change in urban heat island is far f...
